A 20-year-old man was on life-support systems at Glendale Memorial Hospital after being hit by a shotgun blast early Sunday morning in the Atwater area.
Police said two cars carrying gang members were driving along Glendale Boulevard when a third car pulled up behind them. A shotgun blast from the third car hit the victim in the head and upper torso. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
In San Pedro, Jerome Moore, 18, was killed and a second man was wounded Saturday evening while they were sitting in a car in a parking lot. Police said assailants approached the car and opened fire in what appeared to be a gang-related shooting.
In Lynwood Friday night, Donald Sarpy, 41, was fatally wounded by several shots fired from a handgun held by an individual in a passing car, police said. Sarpy was talking to his son in front of his home at the time of the shooting. It was not determined if the shooting was gang-related, police said.
