Chula Vista
A 70-year-old woman was killed when she crossed a street at mid-block and was hit by a car, Chula Vista police said.
Margarita O. Virchis of Chula Vista was crossing 4th Avenue between J and K streets about 6:30 p.m. Sunday when she was struck by a car driven by William C. Lukey, 70, of Chula Vista, police spokesman Dave Fox said.
Virchis was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Lukey was not cited.
