FATHER FIGURES: Many grade school teachers are helping students to ease war anxieties through drawings (E1). Bruce Baron, principal of Irvine’s Los Naranjos Elementary School, is going a step further. . . . The school has 80 students whose parents are deployed to the Persian Gulf, and Baron plans to bring in Marines from the Tustin air station to lead upper-graders in aerobics classes. “Some of these kids with their dads gone really enjoy having a positive relationship with another male Marine,” says Baron.
