THE WAR’S IMPACT

TV Troop Salute: “AM Los Angeles,” the talk show hosted by Steve Edwards and Tawny Little weekdays at 9 a.m., will present a special “Salute to the Troops” Thursday and Friday. The shows will be sent over to the troops through the USO. Scheduled to perform are Lee Greenwood (who’ll sing “God Bless the U.S.A.), Tony Orlando (“Tie a Yellow Ribbon”), Susan Anton, John Schneider, Tiffany (who will sing the official USO song “Here in My Heart”), Ben Vereen and Gary Morris (singing “Bring Him Home”). Other celebrities to appear on the KABC-TV Channel 7 program include Tom Selleck, Magic Johnson, M.C. Hammer, Donny Osmond, Tim Conway, Carol Burnett, Billy Dee Williams, Roseanne Barr and Charlton Heston.
