LOCAL : Gunman Fires at LAPD Cadet
A Los Angeles Police Department cadet escaped injury today when four bullets were fired into her car as she drove on the Foothill Freeway in La Canada Flintridge.
Gretchen Carnes, 22, was eastbound on the freeway at 4:30 a.m. and about to head southbound on the Glendale Freeway when a car pulled alongside and shots were fired, sheriff’s spokesman George Ducoulombier said.
Detectives were questioning a man in connection with the shooting, but he had not been arrested, Ducoulombier said.
Carnes has been in training at the Los Angeles Police Academy for two months, Ducoulombier said.
