THE GULF WAR: The International Front : In Germany: Battle Casualties
U.S. military officials identified the first GULF BATTLE CASUALTY evacuated to a military hospital in Germany as Marine Cpl. Rick A. Ramirez, 21, of San Pedro, Calif., who was deployed to the Mideast from Twentynine Palms. Ramirez arrived Feb. 4 at Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Frankfurt in critical condition with head and chest wounds and a broken shoulder. Since then, two other Marines and a sailor have been hospitalized briefly in Germany en route to the United States. One was identified as Marine Cpl. Ronald S. Tull, 22, from Twentynine Palms. He reportedly was wounded in action near Khafji.
