Dad After 3 Sets of Twins: ‘No More’
SAN FRANCISCO — Despite what doctors say is a low probability for one family to have three sets of twins, Belinda and Juan Lopez took their third set home from San Francisco General Hospital on Wednesday.
“No more,” Juan Lopez, a mariachi musician in a Mission District restaurant, told reporters during a news conference in the hospital nursery. Standing nearby were the couple’s six other children: 13-year-old Ernesto, 7-year-olds Vanessa and Sandra, 6-year-old David and 3-year-olds Carlos and Belinda.
The chance of the couple having twins was enhanced by the fact that Belinda, 28, is a twin and Juan has twin brothers.
“She hasn’t taken any fertility drugs,” said head nurse Donna Loper. “This is just God’s blessing.”
