Ivan Calderon avoided arbitration and signed a three-year contract worth $7.8 million with the Montreal Expos. Calderon will make $2.2 million this season, $2.6 million in 1992 and $3 million in 1993. He hit .273 with 14 home runs and 74 RBIs for the White Sox in 1990 and earned $950,000. Calderon came to the Expos in a trade for Tim Raines.
