TUSTIN : Seniors’ Help Sought in Special Education
The Tustin Unified School District is looking for senior citizens to help in special-education classes.
The volunteers will initiate a new program called Seniors Serving Special Students, or the 4-S Project.
Gerald Hime, director of special education for the district, said senior volunteers can provide additional supervision during school activities and field trips, aid in correcting papers and offer general assistance to students.
The program is expected to begin in mid-April after spring break.
Applications for the program are available at the Tustin Senior Center.
