NATION IN BRIEF : NEW HAMPSHIRE : 4th Youth Indicted in Pamela Smart Case
A fourth teen-ager was indicted in Exeter, N.H., in connection with the slaying of Gregory Smart. Smart’s wife, Pamela, has been convicted of enticing her 16-year-old lover, William Flynn, to carry out the murder with the help of several of his friends. Raymond Fowler, 19, of Seabrook was charged with being an accomplice to first-degree murder in an indictment returned by a grand jury. Flynn, Vance Lattime Jr. and Patrick Randall pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and testified against Mrs. Smart at her trial. As part of the plea agreement, they will also have to testify against Fowler, who will be tried in October. Fowler allegedly drove Flynn and others from the murder scene.
