DOC LAPORTE

In “The Legend of Doc Laporte,” Karen Tumulty writes lots of speculation and extrapolation. I don’t think that she understands at all the insanity of any war, much less the Vietnam War.

Sorry gang: D minus is all that the story gets. For remedial education: Tumulty should review “Roots,” Ken Burns’ “The Civil War” and “Dances With Wolves” and then rewrite the story of Doc Laporte--with feeling this time.
