Delbert A. Fisher has been named president of Nichols Institute Reference Laboratories, a unit of San Juan Capistrano-based Nichols Institute. He succeeds Wayne C. Patterson, who has moved to Denver to join a consulting firm. Fisher is also professor emeritus at the UCLA School of Medicine, department of pediatrics and medicine. Fisher has served as academic associate for the institute for 20 years. In addition, Michael G. Bissell has joined the company as vice president, medical director, reporting to Fisher. Before his move to Nichols Institute Reference Laboratories, he was director of clinical pathology at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte.
