Trustee Replacement Named
Attorney William Beverly was named Tuesday to fill a vacancy on the El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees. He will replace trustee Gerald Hilby, who resigned effective May 1.
Beverly is expected to be sworn in at the July 8 board meeting. His current term will expire Nov. 29, but he said Wednesday that he plans to run for another term. The election will be held Nov. 5.
Beverly, 40, of Manhattan Beach, is a son of state Sen. Robert G. Beverly (R-Manhattan Beach). He served seven years as a trustee for the South Bay Union High School District and will represent the district on the community college board.
