45 Aliens Arrested at Garment Factory
Federal immigration agents Thursday arrested 45 illegal immigrants after serving a search warrant at a garment factory in East Los Angeles.
Robert M. Moschorak, the Immigration and Naturalization Service’s Los Angeles district director, said agents served the warrant on Trend Apparels Inc. at 3917 and 3923 S. Broadway.
During an inspection of the company’s employment records last August, the INS determined that many of Trend Apparels’ workers were using immigrant cards and Social Security numbers that belonged to other people, Moschorak said. Twenty-three of the workers arrested were women and 22 were men.
