Titans Sign San Jose City College Guard
Brian Wood, a 5-foot-10 guard who averaged 22 points and six assists at San Jose City College last season, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Cal State Fullerton, according to San Jose Coach Percy Carr.
Wood, who attended Silver Creek High School in San Jose, can play point guard or shooting guard. He will join former teammate Kim Kemp, a 6-8 forward who played with San Jose in 1989-90 but spent this year completing his associate of arts degree requirements. Kemp signed with the Titans last year.
Fullerton returns both starting point guard Wayne Williams and shooting guard Joe Small, but the list of potential reserve guards has thinned.
Titan assistant coach Dan Dion said freshman guard Marcus Bell, who played sparingly last season, will transfer to Riverside City College and Dwain Bradberry, a highly regarded Manual Arts High School guard who signed with Fullerton last fall, has not met Proposition 48 requirements and will attend a community college.
