SHORT CUTS: Blues is not just a man’s, man’s, man’s world--not with the appearance of the Ladyfingers Revue, a six-member all-woman blues ensemble that’s opening Jimmy Buffett’s concerts Friday at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre and Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl. The band, whose mentor is Buffett sideman Fingers Taylor, features a pair of L.A. musicians, singer Janiva Magness and guitarist Debbie Davies. . . . Public Enemy’s Chuck D. and Flavor Flav were in Chicago this week, filming a video with Anthrax of the metal band’s new version of PE’s “Bring the Noise,” which features Chuck D. on the track. . . . Our Cover Song of the Week (narrowly edging out Aaron Neville’s rendition of “Everybody Plays the Fool”) is reggae fave Eek-A-Mouse’s version of Led Zeppelin’s “D’yer Mak’er,” which appears on Mr. Mouse’s new album, “U-Neek.” Featuring tracks produced by Stetsasonic’s Daddy-O, Peace Posse’s Matt Robinson and Jamaican studio wiz Augustus (Gussie) Clarke, the album includes such new material as “Gangster Chronicles,” “So Fine” and “Rude Boys a Foreign.” (Mr. Mouse appears tonight at the Strand and Tuesday at the Coach House.) . . . And of all the silly song titles this year, this one is surely the best: Samantha Fox’s new dance single is called “Hurt Me, Hurt Me (But the Pants Stay On).”
