One of the leading characters in the original “The Terminator’ was supposed to return in the sequel, even though he had been terminated by the end of the first film.
Michael Biehn, who played a freedom fighter from the future sent to protect the heroine (Linda Hamilton) from the actions of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator, originally shot a half-day cameo appearance for the sequel. Biehn’s image was even seen in the early trailers for the film.
Biehn’s character was to have made a return in one of two dream sequences, according to Larry Kasanoff, who heads “Terminator 2’ director James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment.
But audiences won’t be seeing him in the final product. “In the normal process of editing the film, we found that the dream scenes were powerful on their own. So that scene hit the cutting-room floor.”
