SUMMER ALBUM ROUNDUP : In Brief
*** Boyz II Men, “Cooleyhighharmony,” Motown. Sounding like Take 6 for the pubescent set, this baby-faced quartet’s silky, coming-of-age style seems shrewdly aimed at teens who’ve wondered if there’s life after hip-hop. The group sounds particularly fine on “Uhh Ahh,” a sumptuous little boudoir ballad that Michael Bivens co-wrote.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor) to five (a classic).
