Men Found Dead in El Toro, La Habra Possibly Murdered : Fatalities: Passersby discover two bodies in separate incidents. Investigators don’t know cause of death for either.
In separate incidents in La Habra and El Toro, passersby on Saturday discovered the bodies of two men who may have been murdered.
In La Habra at 1:25 a.m., a man looking for recyclable cans found a body near trash bins at the rear of Fashion Square at Beach Boulevard and Imperial Highway, La Habra Police Sgt. Ron Harryman said.
Harryman said that the cause of death was unknown but that the man appeared to have suffered “some head trauma.” He said the Sheriff’s Department Crime Laboratory was investigating.
The second body was found after 7:30 a.m. next to a block wall in a parking lot driveway, behind the El Toro Baptist Church at 23302 El Toro Road, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson reported.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. The cause of death will not be known until an autopsy is conducted, possibly today, sheriff’s officials said. According to Olson, beer cans found at the scene suggested there may have been a drinking party.
The victim remained unidentified late Saturday.
