A SPECIAL REPORT: TOURISM
TOURIST MECCA: It’s not glamorous, but the tourist strip along Beach Boulevard in Buena Park is thriving. Movieland Wax Museum and the Medieval Times dinner theater both continue to do well and have now been joined by Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum and Wild Bill’s Dinner Extravaganza dinner house. . . . All this is on Beach Boulevard between Knott’s Berry Farm and the Riverside Freeway. Don’t expect to hear much from these venues, however. To cut marketing costs, Movieland and the others depend on hotel brochure racks as their major form of advertising.
