NBC News Closes 2 Bureaus: The network has closed its Miami and New York news bureaus, a company official said. The closings are part of the network’s cutbacks in its news division. Some employees will be assigned to other NBC News jobs. All three networks have been scaling back their news operations. Earlier this week, ABC confirmed that it would fire about 100 news division employees and close its Rome and St. Louis bureaus.
