TUSTIN : Council to Consider Raise in Trash Fees
The City Council on Monday will hold a public hearing to consider raising trash fees.
The fees need to be raised in part to cover a state-mandated recycling program, city officials said. In addition, the county recently increased its landfill fees.
Based on these increases, city officials are proposing raising trash collection rates from $107.88 to $144.60 per year for single-family homes. The commercial can rates are proposed to go from $112.80 to $144.60 per year. Rates for various sizes of commercial bins would be increased accordingly but these are billed directly by Great Western Reclamation rather than through the city.
