Orion Says It May Be Forced Into Chapter 11: Struggling Orion Pictures said in a quarterly financial report to the Securities and Exchange Commission that it may seek bankruptcy protection if it cannot raise new funds by the end of August. The New York-based studio said it has borrowed all it can under a $300-million credit agreement with banks and “does not believe its bank consortium will agree to increase the available amount under this agreement.” Orion, which is negotiating with bondholders to restructure its bond debt, said it must repay $50 million of its loans by Aug. 31 and make an interest payment of about $13 million on Aug. 15.
