RTC to Sell Off S&L; ‘Art’: The government next week in Dallas will auction off Chinese vases, bronze statues of nudes, paintings of sexual scenes and hundreds of other items bought by failed savings and loans. Among the items is a watercolor titled “Introducing the New Girl at Madam Marie’s,” with nude male and female figures inside a brothel. Many items were Western art pieces, including dozens of bronze statues of cowboys, cattle and horses. John Wayne, the late movie star, was prominently featured, with several bronzes styled after scenes from his Westerns.
