Hansen-Dent to Play for U.S. in Cuba
IRVINE — Brett Hansen-Dent of UC Irvine has been selected to play for the U.S. tennis team in the Pan American Games, which begin Friday at Havana, Cuba.
Hansen-Dent joins U.S. Coach Greg Patton, who also coaches the Anteater men’s team and the Newport Beach Dukes TeamTennis franchise.
As a freshman at UCI last season, Hansen-Dent was ranked 30th in the final Volvo Tennis/Collegiate Rankings with a record of 30-13. He recently won the mixed doubles title at the World University Games, playing with Susan Gilchrist of the University of Texas.
Hansen-Dent won the Southern Section and Ojai Valley tournament singles titles as a senior at Newport Harbor High School in 1990.
