D OFFENSIVE LINE

The Marines were in attendance as guests of Alex Spanos. Had they been here looking for a few good men they would have left disappointed.

C DEFENSIVE LINE

Joe Phillips’ return helps offset loss of Lee Williams. Free agent Rich Kaufusi looks like he wants a full-time job. Ditto LeAndre Anderson.

B- LINEBACKERS

Junior Seau jumps offsides, misses tackle, and by the time the Chargers raise ticket prices next year, Seau will be an NFL star.

D DEFENSIVE BACKS

Charger stiffs can’t run ‘n hide from run ‘n shoot. Now you know why the Chargers were so fired up about signing safety Stanley Richard.

B SPECIAL TEAMS

Last year at this time special teams coordinator Larry Pasquale liked Fuad Reveiz over John Carney. Everyone is entitled to one major blunder.

A COACHING

Dan Henning’s lads are 2-0 in scrimmages and 1-0 in preseason play. Of course, Chargers haven’t been in position yet to call for a fake punt.
