Countywide : Citizens Panel to Advise Water Board
A citizens committee has been set up by the Casitas Municipal Water District to advise board members on water allocations.
The committee consists of Roland Messori, Tom Munzig and Carl Huntsinger, representing agricultural interests; Ken Shelton and Dana Copp, representing residential users, and officials from the city of Ventura, Ventura River County Water District and Southern California Water Co., which purchase Casitas water for resale.
The freeze on new hookups and expanded water service is in effect until April. The board will consider the committee’s advice on who should be allocated water and how to implement water conservation efforts once the freeze is lifted, officials said.
