China, South Korea Set Up Trade Panel: In a bid to promote Sino-Korean trade, China and South Korea agreed to set up a body equivalent to the Chinese-Japanese Economic Council. Trade officials this week will conduct talks on increasing economic cooperation between the two countries. The Chinese and South Korean governments hope to negotiate trade and investment pacts within the year. Chinese and South Korean officials will also be discussing proposals for establishing direct air routes between the two countries.
