Boy, 12, Dies in Fall Through Water Pipe
Associated Press
NEW YORK — A search crew Saturday night found the body of a 12-year-old boy who tumbled 600 feet down a water pipe while exploring a construction site with two friends.
Don’re Carroll “was just badly crushed by the impact on his body,” a fire department spokesman said after searchers spent 15 hours winding through four miles of conduits to reach him.
The other boys, also 12, were rescued before they could slip down into the pipe, officials said.
