BEYOND QUOTAS
The white-male power structure in this country has historically sought ways to “neutralize” any gains made by people of color and women. Abolition was answered by segregationist Jim Crow laws. Women still earn 65 cents on the male dollar, and reproductive freedom is under full-bore attack presided over by the “White” House.
Writer Jim Sleeper et al. should wake up to the reality that affirmative action has been and remains the best vehicle for the socioeconomic advancement of women and minorities.
