Pop Album Chart : A Rush Return From the Defunct
Metallica continues to hold the top spot on the Billboard magazine pop album chart, but it’s another rock group that made the biggest news this week. Rush, the veteran Canadian hard-rock trio that has often been assigned a plot in the rock ‘n’ roll graveyard, is far from dead. The band’s new album, “Roll the Bones”--its 18th--rushed to No. 3 on the Billboard magazine pop album chart. But its longevity will depends on its appeal to new fans. Bob Seger’s “The Fire Inside” hasn’t cooled off. After entering at No. 7 last week, it remained in that slot. The new leader on the pop singles chart is Color Me Badd’s “I Adore Mi Amor.
* Naughty by Nature is off to a blazing start with its album, “Naughty by Nature,” which debuts at No. 17. The first album by these three hard-core rappers from New Jersey is propelled by their fast-rising single “O.P.P.”
