ATM Robbers Take $25,000
A man and a woman held up two bank employees who were repairing a Rolling Hills Estates automatic teller machine and escaped with more than $25,000 in cash, authorities said.
Shortly after the Monday night robbery at the Bank of America branch on Indian Peak Road, sheriff’s deputies arrested two people who met the general description of the thieves, but no charges were filed after they provided alibis, authorities said.
The employees were ambushed and tied up when they arrived at the bank about 9:30 p.m. to repair an ATM machine, police said. The man carried a semiautomatic pistol, and the woman had hosiery over her face as a disguise.
