Perez, Seguera Top Boxing Card Tonight
IRVINE — Evelio Perez of Santa Ana takes on Francisco Seguera of Coachella tonight in the main event of the monthly boxing program at the Irvine Marriott.
Perez, a lightweight, makes his second appearance in Irvine’s main event in the past four months. He was knocked out in June by Ben Lopez in the 12th round of one of the most memorable bouts in the seven-year history of boxing in Irvine.
Perez (9-3-3) was impressive in the early going of that fight. But Lopez, who was defending his California super featherweight title, rallied and knocked out Perez, who had tired.
Lightweights Charles Wilson and Vincent Black, both of Los Angeles, will meet in the six-round semi-main event.
Tickets--priced at $32, $27 and $22--go on sale at 10 a.m. today in the grand ballroom of the hotel.
No one under 16 is admitted to the bouts. The card starts at 7:30 p.m.
