Ickx’s Co-Driver Is Seriously Burned in Crash

Christian Tarin, 40, driver of the Citroen team participating in the Rally of the Pharaohs in Egypt, was seriously burned in a crash Sunday near Aswan.
Tarin, a Frenchman who lives in Belgium, was evacuated by helicopter to an Aswan hospital and then taken to Paris, race officials said.
His co-driver, Jackie Ickx of Belgium, was not injured.
