San Diego
The body of a 19-year-old man was found face down in a pool of blood in a Logan Heights dirt lot, authorities said.
San Diego police found Jose Luis Domingues at 12:34 a.m. Friday in an empty lot at Goodyear Street and Newton Avenue with a gunshot wound in his chest, homicide Lt. Dan Berglund said.
About 45 minutes earlier, police had stopped Domingues, of the 3900 block of Delta Street, cited him for driving without a license and had his car impounded, Berglund said.
Residents called police after hearing gunshots, Berglund said. There are no suspects.
Police believe that Domingues might have been shot in the 3600 block of Newton Avenue and collapsed in the lot while running for help.
