An unidentified man was shot in the stomach at close range early Saturday as he stood outside a National City fast-food restaurant, police said.
The shooting occurred about 1:40 a.m. as the man stood in front of Alberto’s Taco Shop in the 1600 block of Sweetwater Road. Officers said the man was apparently shot with what was believed to be a large handgun.
The victim was listed in critical condition Saturday at UC San Diego Medical Center.
