WESTERN STATE CONFERENCE FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Glendale Offense Shines in 28-14 Victory Over Compton
Rafik Thorossian rushed for 114 yards and Bobby Webster ran for 83 to lead Glendale College to a 28-14 win over Compton in a Northern Division football game Saturday at Glendale.
The Vaqueros’ ball-control offense, which did not commit a turnover, ran 67 plays and amassed 426 yards. Glendale improved to 2-5, 2-4 in WSC play.
Compton (0-7, 0-6) gained 320 yards but turned the ball over three times in the second half. Two of the turnovers led to Glendale scores.
The score was tied, 14-14, at halftime, but in the second half Glendale intercepted two Enrique Arnero passes and limited Compton to 91 passing yards.
Glendale’s Eric Kiesau completed eight of 10 passes for 125 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to Keith West that gave the Vaqueros a 21-14 lead in the third quarter.
