Police were investigating the discovery of a body in Balboa Park.
Authorities received an anonymous call at 4:28 a.m. Sunday, notifying them that a man had been stabbed and was lying on the grass in the Marston Point area of Balboa Park, near the intersection of Balboa Avenue and Juniper Street.
The victim is described as a black male in his early 20s. At the time of his death he was wearing a blue T-shirt, shorts, black casual shoes and gray socks. He also wore an earring in his left earlobe.
Police said he had been stabbed numerous times.
