San Diego
The San Diego City Council has requested a plan from its city manager and transportation officials for mass transit along Interstate 15 in North County.
Councilman Tom Behr said ideas for new rail lines and more bus service have been around for years, but he wants a comprehensive plan begun immediately.
“We own the right of way up there,” he said. “I would like to see enhanced mass transit and rail. I’m not hung up on any technology. But we need to resolve the problems on I-15.”
Behr, a member of the Metropolitan Transit Development Board, said he wants the study completed in 30 days.
