SIMI VALLEY : 2 Men Arrested on Burglary Charges
Two men suspected of belonging to a Los Angeles burglary ring have been arrested in connection with a Simi Valley burglary.
Jason Scott Wilson and Michael Fernandez, both 18, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing stolen property and suspicion of burglarizing a house in the 100 block of Humboldt Street on Nov. 4. Witnesses provided investigators with information that led to the arrests, said Sgt. Bob Gardner.
Wilson, a transient, and Fernandez were arrested as they drove away from Fernandez’s Granada Hills home about 1:30 p.m., Gardner said. Both men were armed, he said.
A third occupant of the van was taken in for questioning and released.
Gardner said police obtained a search warrant for Fernandez’s house, where he said they found stolen property, including jewelry and clothing. A total of 16 weapons were confiscated from the van and the house, and one .45-caliber handgun was determined to be stolen, Gardner said.
He said additional charges are expected to be filed against the two in connection with burglaries in Los Angeles.
