Two Small Computer Firms Get Big Contract: CompuAdd Corp. and Sysorex Information Systems, two relatively small computer firms, have been awarded a Defense Department contract estimated to be worth about $1 billion. CompuAdd Corp., based in Austin, Tex., and Sysorex Information Systems, in Falls Church, Va., said they received word last week that they won the lucrative three-year Air Force “Desktop Four” contract. The contract, for up to 300,000 personal computers and related equipment, is administered by the Air Force but will supply all branches of the military, CompuAdd said.
