Fluor Wins Arco Contract: Atlantic Richfield Co., the oil and gas giant, announced its selection of Fluor Daniel Inc. to fabricate 20 modules for expanding its natural gas handling capabilities on Alaska’s North Slope by 44% and increasing oil production by nearly 6%. The contract, valued at about $150 million, is part of a $1.5-billion expansion, considered critical to the future of the Prudhoe Bay oil field. Fluor Daniel, the engineering and construction arm of Irvine-based Fluor Corp., will fabricate the modules in New Iberia, La., starting in April of next year.
