RETAIL/LEISURE : Ski Gear Company Files for Bankruptcy Reorganization
Ski & Sports Inc., a chain of well-known ski gear and sporting goods stores, has filed for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.
The Anaheim-based chain has four stores in Orange County. The company lists $2 million in assets and $3.3 million in liabilities in its filing at U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Santa Ana.
Its major creditors were listed as the Fera International Corp. of Torrance and Atomic Ski USA Inc. of Boston. Neither Thomas G. Spalding, president of Ski & Sports, nor the company’s bankruptcy attorney could be reached for comment.
