Arcadia : Heart Assn. Raises $7,000
Volunteers raised more than $7,000 for the American Heart Assn. during two benefits last month.
Seventeen volunteers for the association’s local affiliate used the offices of Intercol Collection and Investigations for two three-hour sessions on Nov. 4 and 6 to call area residents at random.
The money will go toward cardiovascular research and education programs for Los Angeles County residents.
According to the association, an estimated 43,000 people in the county die yearly from cardiovascular diseases.
