California’s Economic Woes
Hey, Mr. Kotkin, you scare me when you so cavalierly refer to Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley’s veto of a proposed business venture as based on “the usual environmental concerns.” You want business given extended time to meet AQMD requirements, but how do you like the air you’re breathing? You want less restriction on truck travel, but have you recently sat gridlocked on a freeway because of a big-rig accident?
We all want California to be economically and environmentally wonderful, but all our efforts to make it so could be lost if we don’t solve the most critical issue facing California: zero population growth.
