Reid Sidelined Up to Six Weeks by Back Injury
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets have put forward-center J.R. Reid on the injured reserve list because of a stress fracture in his lower back.
Reid could miss up to six weeks. He already has missed four games this season, including the last two, due to the back problem.
Dave Twardzik, player personnel director, will meet with team officials in Phoenix Friday and a decision will be made concerning the open roster spot.
Before the injury, Reid was averaging 9.1 points and 6.4 rebounds a game. It is the first time in his NBA career Reid has been placed on the injured list.
