Passing the Torch: Marlo Thomas is carrying on a tradition started by her father, Danny Thomas, by hosting an annual syndicated television special that tells about the work at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and appeals for support. John Goodman co-hosts the new hourlong program that begins airing this weekend on stations across the country. This is the 10th year for a St. Jude TV special. Last year’s program aired 2,500 times in 175 different cities and brought in $17 million from donors. Danny Thomas died in February.
