San Diego
Vandals in at least four areas of San Diego slashed tires and shattered vehicle windows in numbers greater than usual over the Thanksgiving holiday, police said.
About a dozen cars were vandalized in Mission Hills, said San Diego Police Sgt. Ross Stone, and there were similar reports of slit tires and broken windows from East San Diego, San Carlos and La Jolla. Authorities said they did not know the total number of cars that were vandalized.
One police supervisor speculated that the rash of vandalism may have been spurred by a music video sequence from Michael Jackson’s new video release, “Black or White.” In the sequence, Jackson dances on top of a parked car and smashes its windows with a crowbar.
