Smith, McGee Take the Heat at USC
The 3-8 record of the USC football team is merely a symptom of the moribund athletic program at the school. Since the arrival of Mike McGee as athletic director, there has been a decline in virtually every athletic program at the university.
In McGee’s seven years at USC, the athletic teams (men’s and women’s) have won a total of four national championships and none of these in a major sport. This used to be a standard number for one year.
USC’s proud athletic heritage is being destroyed by Mr. McGee, and the football team happens to be the latest victim.
