Sabres Fire Coach, Muckler Takes Over
From Staff and Wire Reports
The Buffalo Sabres fired Coach Rick Dudley Wednesday night after the team lost, 6-3, to the St. Louis Blues. The Blues are 9-15-4.
John Muckler, who joined the team as director of hockey operations in the off-season from the Edmonton Oilers, was named as interim coach.
Dudley said his firing was very basic: “We lost--and I’m out.”
